Coltishall link information on Community Transport - Dial-A-Ride

Community car schemes are a non profit making, organised form of car sharing to provide transport for people without access to a car. They are set up in areas with little or no public transport and are run by volunteer drivers using their own cars. The drivers are organised by a volunteer coordinator who lists the drivers and links them with requests for specific journeys. The drivers are paid an agreed mileage rate to cover their running costs.
Community 'Dial-a-Ride' schemes are also non-profit making, organised form of transport for people without access to a car. Minibuses are wheelchair accessible and operate on demand. Passengers telephone in advance to book their journey. Payment is made on the bus and concessionary passes can be used.

Dial a Bus in our East Area is a great way to get to shops and services in Stalham, North Walsham, or  Wroxham & Hoveton.

One phone call, before noon on the day before travel  is all it takes for NWACTA members to book a seat . Passengers are picked up from home and travel to their destination for a stay of around two hours.

Dial a Medi Ride is a dedicated car and driver service that helps passengers who have no other means of transport, to keep their appointments with doctors, dentists and opticians etc. Cars will collect people throughout the area shown on the map and take them to  medical services in the locality (including Cromer Hospital), and then drive them home again.

Medi Ride can be used for all health-related appointments with G.P.s and practice staff, dentists, opticians, clinical out-patients departments and complementary therapies such as chiropractic and physiotherapy.

Please note: This service is for medical appointments in North East Norfolk only and
cannot be used for transport to Norwich or Great Yarmouth.

Users of Dial a Medi Ride must register with NWACTA by calling 01692 500840, then give as much notice of their appointment as possible, certainly no less than two working days. A fair fare will be charged for the round trip which reflects the distance travelled..
